Sailboat on Puget Sound One

A note from the artist:

Sailboats on the Puget Sound, Washington State, offer scenic, year-round sailing, particularly near Seattle and the San Juan Islands.  Last summer, I was on the beach at Sea Hurst Ed Munro Park watching sailboats as their sails filled with the breeze forcing them to move forward in the choppy water.   Although Orca, the whales, are year-round residents, their peak activity times are May through October.  The day was moody and watching the sailboats and wishing to see some Orca quickened my artistic flare.  These two mixed media collage paintings, Sailboats on the Puget Sound One and Sailboats on the Puget Sound Two were inspired that day; I went into the art studio and pulled gelli printed papers from my stash and began the process of tearing them apart to create the water and then found the right wallpaper for the boats and sails.  Thus, began the adventure of creating Sailboats on Puget Sound One and Two.
