This abstract painting was inspired by mixed media artist, Kit Bell, who I watched on YouTube before deciding to give her type of art a try from the video, “The Life Cycle of a Botanical Gel Print: Gel Print: Start to Finish”.
As usual as I began to follow her steps, I veered off into my own artistic space, and this is the result. The materials used were a wood panel, tissue paper, Liquitex matt medium, translucent acrylic paints, and pieces of plants from the garden.
There are six layers of gel printed botanicals on tissue paper providing texture and depth and visual interest as they blend in the creation of this painting.
