Needlepoint Finishing Services
"I've finished stitching my masterpiece!"
Now what....
When you've finished stitching, you'll just have a piece of canvas with threads — it’s beautiful, but not yet ready to display or use. Our needlepoint finishing services turn that stitched canvas into a finished product. We turn your beloved stitched piece into an heirloom that will last generations!
What is the process like to send in a piece to finish?
- Deciding what type of finishing you'd like – Ornaments, Bag Charms, Pillows, Stand-ups, Eyeglass Cases, Framed Pieces, Trays, and so much more!
- Blocking (Optional) – The stitched canvas can get warped or stretched while you work on it. Blocking straightens it out so it’s square and flat again. Blocking entails expertise, which is an additional cost.
-
Trimming and backing – The finisher trims extra canvas, adds a backing fabric (for example, velvet, cotton or linen), and sometimes a lining if needed.
- We do not suggest pre-cutting, ironing, or cleaning your canvas prior to sending it out to us. If you have questions, please email bookshelfanatomy@gmail.com or use the form below to submit your questions to our finishing team!
- Stuffing and sewing – For items like ornaments, pillows, or stand-ups, they stuff the piece and sew it closed neatly using cotton batting and invisible thread.
- Adding details – Depending on customization requests, we may attach tassels, cording, ribbons, zippers, or other decorative elements to make it look polished and professional.
- Mounting or framing – If you want your piece framed, the finisher can mount it properly so it looks perfect on the wall.
- So basically: you do the stitching, and the finisher does the transforming.
We aspire to deliver more than, "as expected", ensuring that you are satisfied with your heirloom piece. Select your option for finishing, based on what we offer today!
We do take custom requests and are adding new finishing types as we are able.
