Bookshelf Anatomy began as a place where different creative interests could sit beside one another.

Events allow that idea to leave the screen and become a real table filled with needlepoint canvases, paper goods, artwork, creative supplies, questions, conversations, and people sharing what they are making.

Whether we are attending an art market, hosting a collection launch, or gathering around a table to learn something new, we love creating opportunities to meet the people behind the projects.

What we bring will depend on the event, but you may find:

Markets and Pop-Ups

Markets give us the chance to share the details that do not always translate through a photograph.

You can see the scale of a needlepoint canvas, feel the texture of handmade paper, notice the stitching along the edge of a card, or look closely at the layers within a mixed-media piece.

They also give us the opportunity to hear what catches your attention first.

Which colors make you stop? Which canvas feels like it belongs in your project bag? Which journal do you immediately want to open? Which piece of artwork reminds you of somewhere familiar?

Those conversations help us understand what our creative community is drawn to and what kinds of pieces we should make next.

Classes and Creative Tables

When we gather to make something, the emphasis is on beginning without needing to know everything.

A good creative class should provide enough guidance to help you feel supported while leaving enough room for your own choices.

That might mean learning the foundation of a needlepoint stitch, experimenting with layered papers, creating a mixed-media page, or discovering a new way to use materials you already have.

You do not have to arrive as an expert.

Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your willingness to try something new.

Collection Launches

Many Bookshelf Anatomy collections begin with a larger story.

They might be inspired by a season, a family memory, a favorite creative ritual, a garden, or a fictional place we could not stop imagining.

Launch events give us more room to share that context and show how the individual pieces belong together.

They are also an opportunity to see new work first, ask questions about how it was created, and learn about the materials and ideas behind the collection.
